About Me

Hello! My name is Noraa Gunn.

I’m passionate about storytelling for how it offers a chance to connect deeply with others. I have a Master’s in Book Publishing from Portland State University and a copyediting certificate from the University of Chicago, which has helped me build my career in the literary field. My two years of experience with Ooligan Press have further developed my skills in editing and publishing.

I have a particular affinity for fiction, focusing on speculative, queer, young adult, and middle-grade genres, as I believe these narratives have the power to resonate deeply with diverse audiences. I’m dedicated to inclusive storytelling and making literature accessible to all, believing that every reader deserves to find a story that speaks to them.

Beyond my publishing experience, I’m also the founder of a candle business, Foxbreath Studio, inspired by literary and legendary themes, where I manage all aspects of product design, marketing, and copywriting.

I live in Washington with my partner and our two dogs, Margot and Pippin. As an avid reader, I can talk about stories all day (and well into the night). My love for stories began with classics like Robin Hood and Arthurian legends—sparking a lifelong fascination with magic, myth, and adventure. I have a particular soft spot for knightly characters, haunted houses, and time-slip plots that bend reality just a bit.
